Our History
How We Met
6 SISTERS has its origins as far back as 2007 during which a group of 6 female students of African descent (Grenada, Cameroon, Nigeria x2, Jamaica and Niger met in their first year of college and all ended up graduating as Social Service Workers.
The team first found their voice when they worked on a Social issue project and scored a whooping %100, a project aimed at identifying the flaws of Ontario Works benefits which usually does not meet the current market rate/needs of its recipients. It is then that they realized their love for advocacy and community action.
